CanceRx Unveils New Website On Offering More Clinical Trials

By Cody Gibbons, Director of Operations, CanceRx

CanceRx, an accelerator for clinical development in oncology, has launched a new website to showcase its evolving focus on filling gaps in funding for new cancer therapies.

The new website, CanceRx.us, covers the Tampa, Florida, organization’s scientific and business strategy that picks up where public support of research ends and private funding begins.

Government-funded basic research has created a wealth of potential therapies, with thousands of promising innovations needing support to develop proof they are safe and effective for people. That’s the role of industry and where there is a shortage of capital.

The challenge comes when private investment is needed to fund clinical trials of new products,  where it can be challenging to prove that what worked well in a lab setting is as effective in human medicine. The timeline and cost to do this research can discourage private equity funding.

A new paradigm is needed to complete the work required on promising breakthroughs. CanceRx uses novel financing models to drive scientific innovation in the clinical development of new treatments, which increases the odds of success and uses resources more effectively.

The evolution of CanceRx is spelled out in the new website designed for researchers, clinicians, investors and philanthropists.
