Championing new projects in cancer research is Tracy’s passion, as a biochemist with both basic and clinical research experience, she brings a unique perspective to CanceRx.
At Oregon Health Sciences University she worked on hormone-regulated cancers and contributed to the development of Herceptin for HER2 + Breast Cancer. She transitioned to working on a rare genetic disorder pre-disposing children to bone marrow failure and secondary cancers where she identified key proteins in disease development. At the Moffitt Cancer Center, she launched the Department of Defense’s National Functional Genomics Center (NFGC), analyzing genes and proteins of tumors to aid personalized medicine and trial matching.
Continuing this important research, she worked closely with clinical research organizations (CROs) and industry sponsors to conduct clinical trials as the director of research for the Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center, establishing clinical research, and the collection of tumor tissues for the NFGC, the first of its kind in a community setting. Over the past 10 years she developed clinical research sites and site networks for two independent companies as the vice president of clinical operations and the chief scientific officer respectively. Tracy has a BA in biology and business from Concordia University in Portland, OR.
